The TRC v7 Dashboard presents structured data drawn from two sources; the TRC Final Report (Volume 7) and the partial output of data from Infocomm, a database of incident descriptions collected by TRC statement-takers. Our custom NER models identified relevant political organizations, types of violence, incident dates, and individual names within these materials and extracted that information as structured data.
Various menus on the dashboard allow users to filter data points using extracted categories and/or view the totality of events in three different modes. The TRC v7 Dashboard is a work in progress and will be updated to reflect additional refinements. User instructions are available by clicking the left side tab on the dashboard.
